A Message for the New Semester Year of 2007 

Dear everyone,

Welcome to Standard Chinese School of Australia (SCSA) -- a professional community educational provider that was initially inaugurated in the capital city of Canberra in 2004 engaging young Australians and Australian Chinese with Chinese language, culture and history. The suburb of Belconnen in Canberra ACT is the cradle of the promising educational body and is expanding its business around states of Australia, including Cairns as we are investigating the possibility and feasibility to extend our teaching programs into the Australian trust territory in 2007. 

As we know, China is growing rapidly into one of the largest economic operations in the world and is playing an increasing role in the international affairs. In 2015, when the generation born in the late 1990s grows up into the age of 20s, Asian region will be the focus of our world and China will be the focus of Asian region. In 2006, China is the second largest trading partner of Australia. China will be Australia's major trading partner and one of the world's leading economies. Chinese will make more than one forth of the world's population. The booming economy in China is full of opportunities and hopes in the future. The children of overseas Chinese and those speaking Chinese with an English background enjoy exceptional advantages and face more opportunities then ever in future life, career or business development.

Like many of other languages, Chinese language is a bridge of friendship towards the world; Chinese language is bridge of international trade with the world; Chinese language is a bridge of international cooperation internationally; Chinese language is a bridge of educational and cultural exchange cross cultures and nations; Chinese language a bridge of world connections. Those who have obtained the abilities of using Chinese language in English context will indefinitely enrich and widen their opportunities in personal future development. The mastery of this language enables you to have the key to communicate with 1.3 billion Chinese in personal interest, future career, trading and business development. Studying the Chinese language is a major investment in your future life, and it's time to learn Chinese -- the language full of economic values for personal growth than ever before. 

However, even if you have a Chinese background, but you have no knowledge of Chinese language, you will lose these advantages, and consequently, your opportunities even less than ordinary people. We are all in the hope to give our younger generation the best education. To give our children a better future, we must pay a special attention to their learning of Chinese language at an appropriate stage. We must take advantage of the preciously limited and irreversible time with a most effective way to the children learning of Chinese language and culture.

Adults may resume your job or business after failure, but there the opportunity for the kids learning is only one, as the learning is irrevocable. Language learning is essential in children's moral, mental and intellectual development. Linguistic and psychological study shows that it is important to have children to start language learning at an early age, and the most important step you need to do is to have an ideal language environment for the kids to learn Chinese language and culture.

Standard Chinese School of Australia is an ACT government accredited non-profit educational body aiming at promoting the teaching and learning of Chinese language and culture in Australia based up the region of Australian Capital Territory. We pursue and maintain a high level of teaching quality of Standard Chinese (Dinkum Chinese) with simplified version and a high level of professionalism in school operation. Students also have opportunities to study the traditional Chinese version when they reach high levels of Chinese proficiency. We have a group of experienced, enthusiastic, responsible and caring teachers with high responsibilities and the teachings are conducted to strictly follow up the practical syllabus and classes and programs are fully prepared beforehand to reach the ultimate level of achievement.

In 2007, we will introduce E-Language Learning Program with the support of China National Office of Chinese language Council International and  in Beijing and the Educational Office of Chinese Embassy in Australia. We will be the first ethnic Chinese school in Australia to implement the most recent Chinese software titled Chengo Chinese and Great Wall Chinese in promoting teaching and learning Chinese both in school and at home. All our students, both school-aged and adult are eligible to access these resources. 

Standard Chinese School of Australia (Chinese Language Centre of Australia) opens to everyone who has interests in learning Chinese language and culture. Both Belconnen and Woden campuses provide Chinese language classes for school-aged children and adults as well. I warmly welcome you to join us the learn Chinese language.
